A Hotel Equipped with a Guest Room IoT System and a Variety of Content
Domestic native brand Hotels Skypark Group opened its ninth branch, ‘Hotels Skypark Central Seoul Pangyo,’ on August 1. This is the first new branch to open since the With-Corona era, and as it is the first new hotel to open in Pangyo in a long time, expectations among residents of Bundang, Seongnam City, are high.
‘Hotels Skypark Central Seoul Pangyo’ is located a 3-minute walk from Seohyeon Station on the Bundang Line, the central commercial area of Bundang. It is situated at the core of Bundang and Pangyo business districts, with about 20 minutes by car to Gangnam and less than 10 minutes to Pangyo Techno Valley, making it likely to attract demand not only from the Seohyeon commercial area but also from Pangyo.
In particular, the premium-grade interior facilities designed to maximize consumer convenience are drawing attention. With a 200-pyeong buffet restaurant, a 100-pyeong rooftop pool, and a fitness center, guests can enjoy a relaxing ‘hokangseu’ (hotel vacation) right in the heart of the city, and it is also ideal for business travelers to enjoy a ‘workation.’
In preparing for the opening, ‘Hotels Skypark Central Seoul Pangyo’ aims not only to provide simple lodging but also to offer various contents and experiences accumulated by the group to deliver a differentiated hotel experience to customers.
In collaboration with Nongshim, a popup booth and photo zone featuring ‘Nyongi,’ the character of Nongshim Yukgaejang Bowl Noodles, will be set up at the rooftop pool snack bar. Additionally, in partnership with the art platform ‘Dive In,’ famous artists’ photographs and works will be permanently installed throughout the lobby and hotel. The hotel stated, “Hotels have now become complex facilities where various cultural activities are enjoyed, and accordingly, ‘Hotels Skypark Central Seoul Pangyo’ is planning various events to offer customers unique and enjoyable attractions.”
Furthermore, the state-of-the-art systems maximizing customer convenience are also a strong point. Beyond the introduction of an IoT control system in guest rooms, the hotel is considering implementing a ‘smart room order system and indoor/outdoor delivery robots’ that allow customers to conveniently place orders from affiliated stores outside the hotel and receive food and products directly in their rooms.
The site where ‘Hotels Skypark Central Seoul Pangyo’ is located was previously operated by a global hotel brand. When the contract period ended, the landlord’s decision to change the operating brand led to numerous offers from various global and large corporate brands.
Among many brands, the domestic native brand Hotels Skypark Group, despite the difficult period of the COVID-19 pandemic, maintained employment for all staff and fulfilled the contract with the landlord through its unique business capabilities. Subsequently, it gained industry trust with overwhelming growth and confidently secured the operating rights, surpassing other brands.
A representative of Hotels Skypark said, “By opening the ninth branch in Pangyo, where visits by domestic and foreign business travelers are frequent as well as tourists in Seoul, we aim to show why customers choose Hotels Skypark through the group’s motto of ‘便 (Convenience)’ and ‘FUN’ services, going beyond simple lodging services.” They added, “Our goal is to expand to 15 domestic branches by 2025 and enter the global market.”
