JLKE (CEO Kim Dong-min), the first medical AI listed company, announced on the 1st that it has successfully obtained a domestic technology patent for its artificial intelligence-based brain region classification system (SYSTEM FOR CLASSIFYING BRAIN REGIONS BASED ON ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE).
According to the Korean Intellectual Property Office, the "Artificial Intelligence-Based Brain Region Classification System," jointly filed by JLKE and Seoul National University Hospital, was finally approved for technology patent registration this month. With this decision, JLKE has once again solidified its position as a specialized medical AI solution company for the brain.
The "Artificial Intelligence-Based Brain Region Classification System" is a technology that creates and evaluates a model classifying brain regions using artificial neural networks based on MRI and CT imaging data. This system registers the original brain imaging data onto a standardized 3D brain template and then restores each classified region back to the original imaging data.
By utilizing this system, patient brain images can be classified by region, allowing estimation of the degree of brain aging. Medical professionals can accurately identify lesion areas in patients with brain diseases and easily predict stroke prognosis such as functional decline.
Synergistic effects with JLKE’s stroke AI solution are also expected. When combined with quantitative indicators provided by interpreting patient CT and MRI scans?such as ▲presence of stroke ▲stroke type ▲lesion size and volume ▲severity ▲vascular occlusion ▲blood flow information?the brain region classification system enables more detailed treatment and rehabilitation planning, minimizing the aftereffects of stroke.
Kim Dong-min, CEO of JLKE, stated, “Obtaining the patent for the artificial intelligence-based brain region classification system recognizes JLKE’s capabilities in medical AI technology. In line with our reputation as a stroke AI specialized company, we will continue research and development to provide solutions that offer practical benefits to both patients and medical professionals.”
