Pyeongtaek City Focuses Monitoring on High-Risk Groups to Prevent Solitary Deaths

On the 31st, Pyeongtaek City announced that it will conduct assessments to identify individuals at risk of solitary death among the 'post-management subjects' until the 9th of next month.

In response to recent cases of solitary deaths mainly among vulnerable groups, the city conducted a full survey of 9,515 single-person households under the Basic Livelihood Security Program in May and June. Based on this, considering factors such as health crisis levels and the presence of emergency contact networks, 198 households were selected as post-management subjects.

The city plans to use the solitary death assessment tool distributed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to determine whether these post-management subjects belong to the high-risk group for solitary death, and will proceed with intensive monitoring following procedures such as selection and service linkage.

To support intensive discovery activities such as regular surveys and planned investigations using the welfare blind spot discovery and management system for solitary death prevention, as well as tailored service linkage for management, the city will also establish a close cooperation system with eup, myeon, dong offices and key institutions.
