Her works are praised for building a unique artistic world by adding a modern sensibility to traditional Korean painting techniques.

Holding a Ph.D. in Plastic Arts, Professor Hwang is currently nurturing future talents at Mokwon University while steadily dedicating herself to creative and research activities.

She has continued her work focusing on ink landscape paintings centered on line drawing, as well as color landscape paintings and gongpil paintings applying these techniques, holding 15 solo exhibitions both domestically and internationally.

Some of her exhibited works are held in collections such as the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Art Bank, the Government Art Bank, Nonsan City Hall in Chungnam, Nonsan City Culture and Arts Center, and the Daejeon Seonhwa Christian Art Museum, proving her status as a skilled artist.

Professor Hwang has received the Grand Prize at the Daejeon City Art Exhibition and the Gold Prize at the Geumgang Art Exhibition. She was also named in the Korean Painting category in the ‘2010 Gyeomjae Jeongseon Tomorrow’s Artist Contest’ and exhibited her works at the Gyeomjae Jeongseon Memorial Hall’s ‘Tomorrow’s Artist Exhibition.’

Professor Hwang said, “I am presenting works completed with inspiration gained from an island experience in the Jeju area last year through this solo exhibition. The works reflect waves, wind, the islands encountered there, and the rippling water as my own image in reality, entrusting the mental imagery to a small bird in the painting, symbolizing self-contemplation in that place.”
