Eligible participants are pregnant women and infants under 66 months old residing in the county, whose income level is below 80% of the median income based on the health insurance premium standard (4-person household monthly income of 4,584,000 KRW), and who have one or more nutritional risk factors such as anemia, underweight, growth retardation, or poor nutritional intake status.

The supplementary foods provided are customized packages consisting of six types, including formula milk, milk, gim (seaweed), miyeok (seaweed), black beans, rice, canned chicken breast, juice, potatoes, carrots, and eggs, selected through preference surveys conducted twice a year according to the recipient.

The support period is up to one year, with nutrition education and counseling conducted monthly, and a mid-term evaluation every six months to check for improvements in nutritional issues.

Nutrition education at least once a month is conducted both on-site at the public health center and online.

Classes cover topics related to food nutrition such as nutrition management for anemia prevention and understanding and managing allergenic foods, along with various special lectures held monthly.

Applicants wishing to participate can inquire by phone and visit the public health center at the reserved time.

A public health center official said, "As the importance of childbirth is increasing these days, we expect that the Nutrition Plus Project will greatly help improve health promotion by fostering the ability of vulnerable pregnant women and infants to manage their own dietary habits and nutritional status through proper eating habits and nutrition improvement."
