Information and communication equipment specialist Mercury announced on the 31st that it has signed a Wi-Fi 6 AP supply contract worth 12.5 billion KRW with KT.
The model covered by this supply contract is the Wi-Fi 6 AP 'GiGA WiFi home ax,' which is scheduled to be supplied to KT until June 30, 2025.
Mercury is the only company in Korea that supplies Wi-Fi APs to all three major telecommunications operators. Based on its outstanding technology and experience, it has led the domestic Wi-Fi market by being the first in Korea to develop and supply the Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 product.
Mercury supplies not only Wi-Fi APs but also various communication equipment such as ONT (Optical Network Terminal), and recently has begun full-scale supply of 10G ONT.
A Mercury representative said, “This contract with KT will be an opportunity to further solidify Mercury’s position in the domestic telecommunications infrastructure market. Going forward, we will lead the domestic communication equipment market and grow into a globally competitive company through the development of APs with added artificial intelligence (AI) functions and AIoT (Artificial Intelligence Internet of Things) business.”
