The Korea Swimming Federation confirmed and announced the lineup for the men's 4x200m freestyle relay final at the 2024 Paris Olympics on the 30th (local time).

Yang Jae-hoon (Gangwon Province Office), Lee Ho-jun (Jeju City Office), Kim Woo-min, and Hwang Sun-woo (both from Gangwon Province Office) will swim in that order. Yang Jae-hoon, who will swim only once in this Olympics, will start the race, and the moment Hwang Sun-woo touches the pad, Korea's ranking will be decided. This is the same order as when they won the gold medal with an Asian record (7 minutes 01.73 seconds) at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Games.

They won Korea's first-ever medal in a swimming team event at the 2024 Doha World Championships in February this year, earning a silver medal. In Doha, the order was Yang Jae-hoon, Kim Woo-min, Lee Ho-jun, and Hwang Sun-woo, with only the 2nd and 3rd swimmers swapped, finishing second with a time of 7 minutes 01.94 seconds. The gap with first-place China (7 minutes 01.84 seconds) was just 0.1 seconds.

In the heats on the 30th, Korea swam in the order of Lee Ho-jun, Lee Yoo-yeon (Goyang City Office), Kim Young-hyun (Anyang City Office), and Kim Woo-min, finishing 7 minutes 07.96 seconds and ranking 7th among 16 participating countries, securing a spot in the final.

Hwang Sun-woo, who did not participate in the heats, gave up the semifinals of the 100m freestyle to focus entirely on the 4x200m freestyle relay.

Nine teams will compete in the final. Great Britain and the United States are the teams contending for the gold medal. Korea is expected to compete with Australia and China for the bronze medal. France and Germany will also participate in the 4x200m freestyle relay final.

The final will be held at 10:15 PM local time on the 30th, which is 5:15 AM Korean time on the 31st.
