Saewool Nuclear Headquarters, which has formed a Youth Population Special Committee to overcome the population crisis and is engaging in various activities.
The Special Committee on Population is composed of three subcommittees: marriage promotion, childbirth encouragement, and childcare support. The recent survey was conducted to understand employees’ perceptions and needs regarding marriage, childbirth, and childcare, as well as to explore the direction of the committee’s activities. A total of 317 employees participated in the survey.
In the marriage survey conducted among unmarried employees, the most common reason for hesitating to marry was ‘lack of a partner.’ About half of the respondents indicated that they would be willing to participate if a matchmaking program were offered.
In the childbirth survey, 96% of respondents recognized the national low birthrate issue as a problem, citing economic burden and childcare responsibilities as the primary causes. In the childcare survey, the largest number of respondents reported raising two or more young children, and the biggest issue cited regarding childcare was the lack of policies and systems.
Based on the results of this survey, the Special Committee on Population plans to implement feasible measures at Saeul Headquarters to address population issues, such as launching matchmaking programs and providing support for childbirth and childcare.
