Chairman Jeong Hyuntaek Emphasizes the Need to Support Mokpo Aluminum Hydroxide Production Companies
The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Jeong Hyun-taek) held a meeting on the 27th, inviting National Assembly member Kim Won-i to discuss the difficulties faced by local industries and businesses.
According to the chamber on the 30th, Chairman Jeong Hyun-taek urged the swift passage of the Special Act on Offshore Wind Power and the relaxation of regulations related to cargo handling at the meeting.
He also emphasized the importance of strengthening the competitiveness of aluminum hydroxide production companies, expanding the use of domestic raw materials, and supporting secondary battery raw material production companies.
In particular, it was noted that the only domestic aluminum hydroxide production company located in Mokpo is accumulating deficits due to the influx of imported products, highlighting the need for government support and legislative amendments.
The Mokpo Chamber of Commerce and Industry judged that addressing current issues and communication are essential to overcoming the local economic crisis and promised regular communication with Assembly member Kim Won-i.
Chairman Jeong Hyun-taek said, “I deeply appreciate Assembly member Kim Won-i for attending despite his busy schedule as the secretary of the Industry Committee,” and added, “This is a very critical time for the future of the region, so the chamber will faithfully serve as a conduit to convey the voices from the field and support the prompt resolution of current issues.”
This meeting served as an important opportunity for the economic development of the Mokpo region and support for businesses, raising expectations as a stepping stone to resolving the difficulties faced by leading local economic enterprises.
