Hansangwon, Chairman of Gwangju Chamber of Commerce, Donates 50 Million Won to Jeonnam National University Hospital

Han Sang-won, Chairman of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry and CEO of Dasco Co., Ltd., donated 50 million KRW as a development sponsorship fund to Chonnam National University Hospital.

The total sponsorship fund that Chairman Han has contributed to Chonnam National University Hospital amounts to 150 million KRW.

Chairman Han said, “I hope this small contribution will help Chonnam National University Hospital protect the health of local residents as a regional base hospital,” and added, “I will strive to support the construction of the new hospital, which is a long-cherished project of the local community.”

Jeong Sin, Director of Chonnam National University Hospital, stated, “As a responsible medical institution, Chonnam National University Hospital will do its best to be of greater help to local residents through more active public healthcare activities.”

Meanwhile, Chairman Han Sang-won founded Dong-A Industry, the predecessor of Dasco, in 1983 and has been operating it for over 40 years.

It is regarded as entering a new heyday through social overhead capital (SOC) projects and energy businesses, including manufacturing metal structures and developing core renewable energy technologies.

He also served as the chairman of the Gwangju Community Chest of Korea and is currently serving as the chairman of the Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a director of the Chonnam National University Hospital Development Support Association, actively contributing to the local community through regional economic development, donations, and nurturing talent.
