Hong Nam-pyo, the mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, visited the 'ONE°15 Marina' in Singapore?recognized as Asia's premier marina?on the 26th. During his visit, he met with representatives of the operating company, SUTL Group, to discuss strategies for building marine tourism industry infrastructure in Changwon and attracting investment from foreign companies.
Changwon Special City Mayor Hong Nampyo is exchanging opinions with representatives of ONE°15 Marina SUTL Group.
Singapore developed Sentosa Island as a marine leisure tourism destination and attracted ONE°15 Marina as part of this initiative. SUTL Group signed a contract with the Singaporean government for the facility and has been entrusted with its operation for 30 years.
Thanks to its extensive infrastructure and systematic management, ONE°15 Marina is now regarded as the top marina in Asia and has played a significant role in establishing Sentosa Island as a world-class resort destination.
Mayor Hong stated, "By benchmarking Singapore's successful case, we will continue to enhance the quality of Changwon's marine tourism content, including the Jinhae Myeongdong Marina Port."
Meanwhile, Changwon Special City is also pushing forward with the Jinhae Myeongdong Marina Port project, aiming for a temporary opening in the second half of this year. The project completed site development construction in February, and administrative procedures for building onshore mooring facilities and a marina clubhouse are currently underway.
