Tickets for the Paris Olympics have sold 9.7 million, setting a record for the highest sales ever.

According to the Paris Olympic Organizing Committee on the 26th (local time), the tickets sold so far include 8.7 million for the Olympics and 1 million for the Paralympics, totaling 9.7 million tickets.

This is the highest number of tickets sold in Olympic history, surpassing the previous record of 8.3 million tickets at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

However, the AP explained that a total of 10 million tickets have been made available for this Olympics, so there still appear to be many empty seats.

Since tickets for 45 sports events are still being sold, the total sales volume may increase in the future.

The Paris Olympic Organizing Committee has also been distributing 1 million tickets for free since last April to improve accessibility to the games for local youth, amateur athletes, and people with disabilities.
