Yeongdeok County Relocates and Reopens Ganggu Health Branch as a Health Promotion Center

The Ganggu Health Promotion-type Public Health Center, responsible for the health and medical services of residents in Yeongdeok-gun, North Gyeongsang Province, will open on the first floor of the Ganggu Health Vitality Center, which was completed last May, starting from the 25th.

The previous Ganggu Public Health Center, located inside Ganggu Market, suffered from flooding several times due to its low-lying location during natural disasters such as monsoons and typhoons, and its accessibility was also inconvenient.

The newly relocated Ganggu Health Promotion-type Public Health Center is situated right next to the Ganggu Township Office, making it easy and convenient for residents to use. It is expected that the welfare and medical services in the area will be further improved.

With the relocation of the Ganggu Public Health Center, Yeongdeok-gun has equipped the center with various spaces such as a Senior Health Vitality Center, audiovisual education room, and examination room, in addition to basic resident medical services. Additional spaces for health education have also been prepared to operate a variety of health promotion programs, including smoking cessation, alcohol moderation, and hypertension/obesity management, thus transforming and reopening as a 'health promotion-type' public health center.

County Governor Kim Kwangyeol said, "With the relocation and opening of the health promotion-type public health center, which will be responsible for the health and happy daily lives of Ganggu residents, we have secured the infrastructure to provide high-quality health and medical services stably. We will strive to develop and implement various region-specific health promotion programs to become a strong support for protecting the healthy lives of local residents."
