Proposals for Regional Development Policies and Prevention of Regional Conflicts
On the 25th, Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do, announced that it held the inauguration ceremony for the 1st Gurye-gun Regional Development Committee (hereinafter referred to as the 'Gun Committee') at the county office situation room and launched a total of nine county and eup/myeon committees.
The Gun Committee is a public-private cooperation organization composed of a total of 20 members, including county council members, vice chairpersons of each eup/myeon, and civilian committee members, and is expected to play roles such as proposing regional development policies and preventing local conflicts.
At the 1st regular meeting of the Gun Committee, Jang Seok-woo and Son Geun-bae were respectively elected as chairman and vice chairman by acclamation, and in-depth discussions were held on agenda items such as the achievements of the 2nd year of the 8th civilian administration and the progress of the Seosigyo bridge reconstruction project.
Chairman Jang Seok-woo expressed his determination, saying, "Since the Gun Committee was organized to jointly seek solutions to various pressing local issues through public-private cooperation, it is a position with great responsibility, and I will fulfill my duties and take the lead in making Gurye better."
Governor Kim Soon-ho said, "I thank the committee members who participated in the 1st county and eup/myeon committees, and I hope that you will continue to convey the voices of the residents without distortion and actively propose policies suitable for the characteristics of the region."
Meanwhile, the Regional Development Committee is a consensus body that succeeded the role of the Regional Development Innovation Council launched in 2019, and plans to hold regular meetings and joint meetings annually to share county policy trends.
