Gale Warning Issued Due to Typhoon Kemi
Other Sea Festival Events to Proceed as Scheduled
The "Dadae Fireworks Show" of the Busan Sea Festival, originally scheduled for the 26th, has been postponed by two days.
The Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Heongjoon) announced that due to the influence of Typhoon "Kaimi," a high seas warning will be issued for the waters off Busan at 12 p.m. on the 26th. As a result, the fireworks show, which was scheduled to take place at Dadaepo Beach at 8 p.m. that day, has been postponed to 8:30 p.m. on the 28th.
Typhoon "Kaimi" is expected to dissipate inland in China on the 28th, but it will continue to have a significant impact on the sea. The Korea Meteorological Administration issued a high seas warning for the waters off Busan at 12 p.m. on the 26th in accordance with wave height and wind speed standards.
Because the fireworks show is held on a barge floating on the sea, it cannot be safely launched in waters under a high seas warning. Therefore, the event has been postponed to after the final day's Folk Rock Concert.
The festival's signature contents ? the Night Pool Party, Dadaepo Beach Food Stalls, and the Hanbada Festival for the Disabled ? will proceed as scheduled regardless of the high seas warning.
Due to the postponement of the fireworks show, those who pre-registered for the surfing program on the 28th will be individually notified of any schedule adjustments.

Park Geunrok, Director of Busan Tourism MICE Bureau, said, "It is very unfortunate that we cannot hold the fireworks show as originally planned due to the weather conditions, but we plan to launch spectacular fireworks into the night sky of Dadaepo on Sunday."
