Director Lee Isaac Chung (Jeong Isaak) of the film Twisters, which is creating a box office sensation in North America, is scheduled to visit Korea next month, Warner Bros. Korea announced on the 26th.

Director Chung plans to promote the film by meeting with the domestic media and audiences on August 7-8, along with Twisters lead actress Daisy Edgar-Jones and producer Ashley J. Sandberg. This will be his return to Korea just nine months after attending the Busan International Film Festival last October.

Korean-American director Chung gained recognition for directing Minari (2021), a film about a family that immigrated to the United States. Actress Youn Yuh-jung won the Best Supporting Actress award at the American Academy Awards for her role in this film.

Director Chung’s next work, Twisters, was released on the 19th (local time) and has earned $156.57 million (2.17 trillion KRW) worldwide, recovering its production cost of $155 million within a week, achieving box office success. As a sequel to the disaster film Twister (1996), it tells the story of researchers chasing storms and influencers chasing controversies facing an unprecedented tornado. It will be released domestically on the 14th of next month.
