NBS, President Yoon's Approval Rating Rises 4%p... First Recovery to 30% Since General Election [Polpol News]

People Power Party Support Rate 36%, Democratic Party Support Rate 25%

In the National Barometer Survey (NBS), President Yoon Seok-yeol's approval rating for his administration rebounded, reaching 30% for the first time since the general election.


According to the NBS conducted by polling firms Embrain Public, K-STATS Research, Korea Research, and Hankook Research from the 22nd to the 24th, surveying 1,005 men and women nationwide aged 18 and over via virtual phone number telephone interviews, the percentage of respondents who said President Yoon is performing well in state affairs rose by 4 percentage points compared to two weeks ago, reaching 30%. President Yoon's approval rating had fallen from 38% (first week of April) before the general election to 27% (third week of April) and had remained in the high 20% range, but after three months, it reached 30%. The percentage of respondents who said he is performing poorly decreased by 4 percentage points to 62%.

In terms of party support, the People Power Party's approval rating rose by 6 percentage points compared to two weeks ago, reaching 36%, while the Democratic Party of Korea's rating fell by 2 percentage points to 25%. The gap between the two parties' support rates was 11 percentage points, exceeding the margin of error (± 3.1 percentage points).


In the survey on the suitability of the next Democratic Party leader, candidate Lee Jae-myung ranked first with 34%, candidate Kim Doo-kwan was second with 13%, and candidate Kim Ji-soo was at 1%. However, more than half of the respondents did not disclose their preferred candidate. Those who said none accounted for 47%, and those who answered "don't know" or did not respond were 5%.


Regarding the re-vote on the Special Prosecutor Act for Cha Sang-byeong, which President Yoon vetoed, 58% were in favor, and 30% were opposed. Concerning the easing of the comprehensive real estate tax, 36% thought it was desirable, while 55% considered it inappropriate.
