As the issue of unsettled payment settlements by TMON and WEMAKEPRICE shows signs of prolonged delay, a travel agency that has been selling travel products on TMON announced that it will take responsibility for the trips even if the sales proceeds are not settled.


Entabi Global, which operates NDateTrip, posted a notice titled "Tour Progress Notice Related to the TMON Incident" on its website on the 24th. The company pointed out, "Currently, the settlement payments for vendors on TMON are indefinitely delayed, and refunds to customers who canceled purchases on TMON are not being processed smoothly, causing a surge in damages to travelers during the peak summer season." It added, "Our company, also a vendor on TMON, has not received sales settlements from the previous month to the present, and we have confirmed the final notice from the TMON representative regarding the indefinite delay in settlements."

The company stated, "To prevent further damages to our company and customers who seek our travel products, we have stopped selling travel products through TMON. We hereby notify each and every customer who purchased Entabi Global and NDateTrip travel products through TMON that there will be no disruption in the use of the tours."


Furthermore, it added, "Regarding the settlement of sales proceeds, we plan to resolve the situation through discussions with TMON. We promise that even if our sales proceeds are not settled and TMON is unable to process customer cancellation refunds, NDateTrip will take full responsibility and proceed with the trips for customers eagerly anticipating their summer vacations."

Earlier, posts expressing grievances about travel products booked through WEMAKEPRICE, TMON, and others being canceled one after another have been continuously posted on online communities. Especially, consumers who purchased travel products for the summer vacation season are expressing frustration and urging for countermeasures. Netizens responded with comments such as, "I was supposed to travel to Australia today, but suddenly received a notice that the flight was canceled and I cannot depart. The schedule was already short, so this is absurd," "TMON is breaking my heart," and "I bought airline tickets on TMON, but I don't know what kind of disaster this is."


One netizen particularly said, "I booked summer vacation accommodation on TMON to save a few thousand won, but I never expected this to happen," adding, "I tried calling TMON and the accommodation agency all day but couldn't get through." They continued, "I got sick from calling all day. I don't know if the refund will even happen," and lamented, "TMON ruined my summer vacation."


In this regard, TMON and WEMAKEPRICE issued a press release on the 23rd, explaining, "We will introduce a new settlement system in August to support fast and secure payments to sellers and minimize inconvenience to customers." The new settlement system is known to be an escrow (safe payment) method where customers' payment funds are deposited with a third-party financial institution.
