For Low-Income Single-Person Households Aged 50 to 64
Asan City in Chungnam Province will conduct a survey to identify isolated households and assess the demand for welfare policies targeting low-income middle-aged and older single-person households.
Asan City in South Chungcheong Province will conduct a fact-finding survey to identify isolated households and assess the demand for welfare policies among low-income, middle-aged, and older single-person households.
This survey, which will run until the 30th of next month, will mobilize the human safety network, including public officials from the local health and welfare teams, the local Happiness Promotion Committee, honorary social welfare officials, and welfare coordinators.
The survey targets low-income single-person households in Asan City, specifically those aged 50 to 64 who receive basic livelihood, medical, or housing benefits, as well as those in the second-lowest income bracket. The survey will be conducted through home visits and phone calls, covering topics such as the basic living conditions of the participants, their level of social isolation and household vulnerability (including the risk of solitary death), and their welfare policy needs.
A city official stated, "We will strive to create a 'zero solitary death' Asan City by reflecting the results of this survey in the '2025 Solitary Death Prevention Implementation Plan.'"
