On the 25th, SK Hynix stated during its Q2 earnings conference call, "Last year, the limited IT investment budgets of our customers were concentrated on artificial intelligence (AI), causing general server demand to significantly slow down. This year, general server investments are increasing compared to last year, and demand, which was previously limited to DRAM, is continuing, with high-capacity enterprise solid-state drive (eSSD) demand growing to a level far exceeding early-year expectations."
They continued, "Since power efficiency is important for AI servers, high-capacity eSSD sales this year are expected to grow fourfold compared to the previous year," emphasizing that "it will account for half of the total NAND production volume."
