Golf culture is gradually changing. It is shifting from a personal hobby to a family leisure activity. Golf is no longer just a pleasure for golfers but a sport to enjoy with family. Due to this change, it is not enough for a golf course to be just good. It must have good field conditions, food, and attractions. We introduce the ‘Field 3GO’ golf courses suitable for spending happy times with golf. This time, it is Midas Lake Icheon Golf & Resort.

◆EnjoyGO= Midas Lake Icheon is a public golf course located in Seolseong-myeon, Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do. It is a space that seems as if nature’s beauty has been hidden by the gods themselves. The shining sun and the atmosphere reminiscent of an ancient temple are impressive. It is owned by the Daekyo Group. It boasts a total length of over 7,200 yards. It is a tournament course with ample space considering the gallery.
It adds stories and emotions that could not be felt in existing public courses. It was built with 27 holes on 1,401,649㎡ (about 423,998 pyeong). Unlike mountainous golf courses, it is constructed on rolling hills and plains with an elevation difference within 30 meters. Flat-feeling fairways are arranged below the mounds on both sides. This provides psychological stability during tee shots. Areas adjacent to existing forests use the same tree species to create a natural forest. The plain areas achieve an open and expansive feeling through restrained planting.

At Midas Lake Icheon, you can become a hero from mythology. Each hole is named after protagonists from Greek mythology. Playing the holes with the courage and wisdom of the gods is enjoyable. The courses are Olympus Course (3,288m), Titan Course (3,301m), and Midas Course (3,296m). Various hazards are arranged to give each hole distinctiveness. A caddie selection system is operated. Self-rounds are also possible.
The existing natural waterways were not damaged. Natural streams connected to a large lake were introduced. The course design maximizes self-purification ability by adding waterfalls and aquatic plants. It is an eco-friendly golf course considering strategic and aesthetic functions as well as resource recycling. The lake is used as irrigation water.
Class memberships have been introduced. They include Basic Class, White Class, Blue Class, and Black Class. The joining fee is 10,000 KRW. Discounts are given according to the number of visits and food and beverage usage performance by grade. Black Class members receive a 40,000 KRW discount on weekends and weekdays and 10% off food and beverages.

◆EatGO= The clubhouse is certified as an eco-friendly building (LEED) and designed to evoke a natural sense of stability. It is an open space with various views. Staying in the clubhouse provides not only physical recovery but also psychological stability. Midas Lake Icheon proudly calls itself "a place where leisure seeps in, a place where emotion seeps in, a place where dignity seeps in."
At the clubhouse restaurant, menus are ordered by table order. Robots serve food to the tables. Premium ingredients are used. The signature menu is the ‘Icheon Sotbap Set Meal,’ which highlights local characteristics. You choose between grilled fish sotbap and abalone sotbap. Four side dishes are served together. Icheon rice facilitates carbohydrate oxidation reactions in the body and helps relieve fatigue. Abalone, rich in calcium, is effective for bone health and immune system strengthening. It is the best food to restore energy for golfers who have played long rounds.
◆SeeGO= In Jangcheon-ri, Seolseong-myeon, the lotus flowers are spectacular. It is a lotus flower complex located at Seongho Lake. It was created in 2007 on an area of 50,000㎡ (about 15,125 pyeong). Lotus leaves begin to grow green in June. From July to September, you can enjoy the splendid view of lotus flowers in yellow, white, and pink. The blue sky, white clouds, and pink lotus flowers come together to create a photo spot that attracts photographers. It is also a great place for walking and outings around the lake. In short, it is a healing course.
Seolseong Fortress is also worth visiting. It is Gyeonggi-do Local Monument No. 76. It was built during the Three Kingdoms period. It is a stone fortress surrounding the main ridge of Seolseong Mountain and the valley about 20,000 to 30,000 pyeong to the east. It is a valley-type (pogok-style) mountain fortress including a small valley in the middle. It is about 1,300 meters in circumference and 4 to 5 meters in height. It was built mixing stone and earth walls. It preserves the clearest form of fortress among existing fortress sites in Icheon. Inside the fortress are 12 building sites, one large open area, one well, and two gate sites.
