The Korea Ceramic Foundation's Gyeonggi Craft Creation Support Center is recruiting participants for a special craft workshop program linked to the '2024 Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale.'

This program, focused on making silver cups (eun-gi), is open to the general public and will be led by artist Lee Sang-hyeop, who is gaining attention for his unique metal crafts.

Artist Lee Sang-hyeop is widely known for his signature pattern 'Flowing Gift Waves' and notably won the Craft Trend Fair's Craft of the Year Award (Creative Division) in 2023.

In this workshop, participants will create metal craft works using the 'Flowing Gift Waves' pattern themselves, and the final pieces made by participants will be completed with finishing touches and engraving by the artist, allowing them to keep their works.

Applications are open until August 16, and the workshop will be held on September 6 at the metal workshop of the Gyeonggi Craft Creation Support Center. The material fee is 450,000 KRW.

Applications can be submitted through the Gyeonggi Craft Creation Support Center website (www.csic.kr) under the Craft Education menu, General Education Application tab.

Choi Moon-hwan, CEO of the Korea Ceramic Foundation, stated, "This workshop will provide a special experience and inspiration to everyone passionate about crafts," adding, "We hope many people will feel the beauty and value of crafts through this opportunity with artist Lee Sang-hyeop."

Meanwhile, the 2024 Gyeonggi Ceramic Biennale, an international ceramic culture event, will be held from September 6 to October 20 in Icheon, Yeoju, and Gwangju, offering various ceramic art works and experiential programs.
