[Concall] SK Hynix "No Concern of HBM Oversupply... Supply Shortage Continues"

On the 25th, during the Q2 earnings conference call, SK Hynix stated, "Unlike general-purpose DRAM, investment overcapacity in high-bandwidth memory (HBM) semiconductors does not directly lead to oversupply," adding, "HBM production faces a die size penalty unlike DRAM, and new types of memory demand such as processing-in-memory (PIM) and wide I/O (WIO) will emerge."

SK Hynix also said, "Based on past experience, one might worry that increased investment by suppliers could cause oversupply," but added, "Due to intensified competition within the artificial intelligence (AI) industry, HBM demand is surging rapidly, and despite suppliers expanding their capacity, supply shortages continue."
