KB Asset Management Launches 'India Growth Selection Fund' Investing in Key Growth Themes in India

KB Asset Management announced on the 25th the launch of the ‘KB India Growth Selection Fund’.

The ‘KB India Growth Selection Fund’ is a fund that focuses intensively on key growth themes in India. It selects and invests in five core growth themes expected to experience structural growth in the long term and corporate profit growth in the mid-to-short term: e-commerce and distribution innovation, discretionary consumption, fintech, infrastructure, and advanced manufacturing.

The fund features a balanced portfolio by allocating approximately 50% each to large-cap and small-to-mid-cap stocks. Large-cap stocks invest in large-scale infrastructure industries (infrastructure, advanced manufacturing) that strengthen competitiveness through economies of scale, while small-to-mid-cap stocks focus on high-growth e-commerce, distribution innovation, discretionary consumption, and fintech companies based on the domestic market.

Representative holdings include Zomato Ltd (4.20%), BHARTI AIRTEL LIMITED (4.12%), PB FINTECH LTD (3.72%), ICICI BANK LTD (3.07%), and BHARAT ELECTRONICS LTD (2.96%) as of July 23.

The sector allocation is broadly distributed across India’s leading industries, with financials (19.72%), consumer discretionary (17.47%), industrials (17.27%), IT (8.82%), and real estate (4.62%) in order.

KB Asset Management plans to directly manage the fund and implement investment strategies aligned with market trends based on its extensive experience in managing and researching emerging Asian equity markets.

Lee Seok-hee, Executive Director of the Pension WM Division at KB Asset Management, stated, “We are observing a shift in the leading countries of emerging markets from China to India. The ‘KB India Growth Selection Fund,’ which invests broadly in both large-cap and small-to-mid-cap Indian stocks, will provide efficient investment opportunities aligned with India’s growth.”

The ‘KB India Growth Selection Fund’ is available in two types: currency-hedged (H) and currency-exposed (UH). Starting from the 25th, the currency-exposed (UH) type can be subscribed to at KB Kookmin Bank, and both the currency-hedged (H) and currency-exposed (UH) types are available at KB Securities.
