Digital Healthcare Partners (DHP), a specialized investment firm for digital healthcare startups, announced on the 24th that it is recruiting startups to participate in the DHP Physician Entrepreneur Bootcamp 2024.
This event targets promising early-stage and prospective healthcare startups founded by doctors and medical students. Selected startups will be systematically nurtured through a program that includes mentoring, education, and networking over three months. They will also have the opportunity to be considered for investments up to 300 million KRW and receive recommendations for the TIPS program.
In particular, this program is exclusively for early-stage startups in the medical and healthcare fields where a doctor or medical student participates as a CEO or co-founder. Eligible companies must have been established for less than three years or have cumulative investments of less than 2 billion KRW. Prospective startups before incorporation and overseas corporations are also eligible to apply.
Selected teams will receive customized one-on-one intensive mentoring tailored to their business areas and progress from DHP partners and reviewers, including CEO Choi Yoon-seop. They will also have the opportunity to participate in internal educational programs exclusively available to DHP portfolio companies. Through funds managed by DHP, they can attract investments and, furthermore, promising technology-based startups may receive recommendations for the TIPS program. DHP was recently newly selected as an operator of the TIPS program by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Additionally, participants will benefit from networking with DHP portfolios and senior entrepreneurs, as well as media promotion support.
Applications can be submitted through the Bootcamp menu on the DHP website until the 16th of next month. Approximately five teams will be selected. The bootcamp will run for about three months, starting with a kickoff meeting on September 4th. There is no participation fee.
Choi Yoon-seop, CEO of DHP, stated, “Recently, more doctors are seeking to innovate healthcare and improve patients' lives through startup ventures rather than clinical practice or research,” adding, “This bootcamp was organized to help such individuals transform from medical experts into true entrepreneurs and successfully launch their businesses.”
