Park Ji-won, CEO of HYBE, has been rumored to resign, but HYBE stated, "No decision has been made yet."
A HYBE official said on the 24th regarding the resignation rumors of CEO Park, "It is currently difficult to provide a specific answer."
Earlier that day, a media outlet reported that CEO Park had decided his future after concluding external investment efforts at one of HYBE's subsidiaries. It was reported that Park decided to resign and leave the company.
CEO Park raised his profile by serving as CEO of Nexon Korea in 2014 and COO of Nexon Global in 2018. In May 2020, he joined as CEO of Big Hit Entertainment HQ, the predecessor of HYBE, and has since been responsible for strategy and operations for business advancement and sustainable growth, including the company’s name change to HYBE.
In particular, he is credited with successfully leading the reorganization into a multi-label system. He also played a role in HYBE becoming the first entertainment company designated as a large business group.
However, he recently faced challenges such as the failed acquisition and merger of SM Entertainment and a management dispute with Min Hee-jin, CEO of ADOR.
