Certified as an Excellent Fair Recruitment Institution for 3 Consecutive Years
Focus on Achieving Quality Jobs and Mandatory Employment Ratios
Plan to Hire 15 New Employees in the Second Half
Diverse Positions Including Fixed-Term Professionals and Experiential Interns
Incheon Urban Corporation (iH) is strengthening the social responsibility of local public enterprises by establishing three core job goals: fair recruitment, creation of quality jobs, and achievement of mandatory employment ratios.
On the 25th, iH President Jo Dong-am said, "For 21 years since its founding, we have strived to provide fair job opportunities and implement recruitment procedures that job seekers can relate to," adding, "We will continue to realize the three core job goals and serve as a model for the local community and other public enterprises."
Last month, iH obtained certification as an excellent institution for fair recruitment for three consecutive years from the Korea Management Certification Institute. The fair recruitment excellence certification system grants certification to institutions that surpass a certain score after reviewing all recruitment processes. iH has challenged this since 2022 and succeeded in obtaining certification for three consecutive years through this year.
Since receiving its first certification in 2022, iH has improved trust in its employment brand among job seekers by conducting satisfaction surveys reflecting feedback from job seekers during the recruitment process, operating an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) board, and eliminating bias factors against applicants.
Additionally, the Public Institution Recruitment Survey conducted annually by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission has not requested any disciplinary actions or investigations against iH since 2017, demonstrating that iH has operated a fair and transparent recruitment system.

iH is taking the lead in realizing social values by fulfilling mandatory employment ratios for youth, persons with disabilities, women, and employment support targets.
Every year, iH hires at least 3% of its workforce (391 employees) as youth, and for persons with disabilities, it supports the development of culture and sports by hiring goalball players (persons with severe disabilities) and coaches through business agreements with the Incheon Disabled Sports Association and the Korea Employment Agency for Persons with Disabilities Incheon Branch. As of the end of last year, iH achieved a disability employment rate of 5.11% (24 persons), ranking among the top public institutions fulfilling the mandatory employment ratio for persons with disabilities.
Last year, the employment rate of female workers was 24.52%, more than 8 percentage points higher than the average of 16.16% among comparable companies, and the proportion of female managers was 13.7%, also more than 8 percentage points higher than the corporate average of 5.65%. iH adheres to blind recruitment to prevent gender bias during the hiring process.
Employment support targets under the 'Act on the Honorable Treatment and Support of Persons of Distinguished Service to the State' also met the mandatory employment ratio last year, and this year, a separate announcement for employment support target positions was made in the new employee recruitment notice.
Since experiencing the real estate market downturn and financial crisis following the 2008 Lehman Brothers bankruptcy, iH has refrained from hiring new employees to manage financial risks caused by increasing debt ratios and to stabilize finances. However, since turning a profit in 2014, iH has been recruiting new employees annually to revitalize the local economy and secure excellent talent.
Starting with a recruitment announcement for 4 employees in 2016, iH hired 14 in 2017, 21 in 2018, 22 in 2019, 29 in 2020, 30 in 2021, 29 in 2022, and 12 last year. It plans to hire 15 new employees in the second half of this year. Additionally, iH is expanding opportunities to job seekers in various fields such as experienced professionals, fixed-term specialists, and experiential interns.
In particular, since 2021, iH has been recruiting experiential interns through a separate screening process to support the economic independence of socially disadvantaged groups, including North Korean defectors, multicultural families, and recipients of basic livelihood security or low-income households. As a representative local public enterprise in Incheon, iH also separately recruits local talent, planning to allocate 9 out of 15 new employee positions to local talent in this year's recruitment.
