'Passion of Midsummer'... Yeongdeok Football Festa Summer League Kicks Off

From 26th to 29th, 120 Teams to Compete in Mom's Futsal and Dad's Jokgu at Four Soccer Fields in Yeongdeok-gun

Various Events Including Women's Soccer Player Jeon Eunha's One-Point Class

The unstoppable passion for football continues with the '2024 Yeongdeok Football Festa Summer League,' which will be held from June 26 to 29 at four football stadiums in Yeongdeok-gun.

This tournament, hosted by the football-specialized media Best Eleven (CEO Park Jungseon) and organized by Best Eleven and the Yeongdeok-gun Football Association (Chairman Ha Sangmok), will feature a total of 120 teams across 10 divisions, including kindergarten, elementary, and middle school categories, as well as event matches such as Mom Futsal and Dad Jokgu. Teams will compete in group qualifiers and final tournaments to determine the champions in each division.

The finals of the main divisions will be broadcast live on YouTube Live, and recorded broadcasts will be aired by the official broadcaster, Pohang MBC.

Additionally, during the weekend of the tournament on the 27th and 28th, a Family Zone will be set up at the Ganggu Daegae Football Stadium for participants' families and local residents. The zone will feature a one-point class run by Suwon FC Women striker Jeon Eunha, who hails from Yeongdeok-gun, as well as sales of Yeongdeok-gun's local specialties and various attractions and activities.

Mayor Kim Kwangyeol said, "I hope everyone can blow away the unpleasant and tedious heat with the cool and exhilarating football passion of the Yeongdeok Football Festa Summer League," adding, "Above all, we will prioritize safety and thoroughly prepare the tournament so that every player can fully showcase their skills without any concerns."

Yeongdeok-gun signed a long-term agreement with Best Eleven last year to host the 'Yeongdeok Football Festa' in both summer and winter, committing to hold the Winter League every February and the Summer League every July for four years until 2026.
