LINC 3.0 Project Group Signs Industry-Academia Cooperation Agreement
Dongseo University (President Jang Jeguk) is leading community contribution and industry-academia cooperation projects by establishing an industry-academia-research cooperation network with ten universities nationwide.
The Dongseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group, which is in charge of the third phase of the Leaders in Industry-University Cooperation (LINC 3.0) project, recently announced on the 24th that it signed a "Regional Community Contribution University Alliance Agreement for Community Contribution and Industry-Academia Cooperation" at Hotel Sirius. The agreement was made to establish a close cooperative system for LINC 3.0, promote community contribution, and enhance industry-academia cooperation. The participating universities are: Dongseo University and Kyungnam University (Southeast region), Dongguk University and Korea University (Seoul metropolitan area), Daejeon University and Hanseo University (Chungcheong region), Jeju National University and Honam University (Honam/Jeju region), and Keimyung University and Hallym University (Daegu-Gangwon region).
The Regional Community Contribution University Alliance is a newly launched national LINC 3.0 project council, formed by the ESG University Alliance, to promote community contribution and industry-academia cooperation. Since 2017, this council has continuously carried out activities such as ten Regional Community Contribution and ESG Capstone Design Fairs, eight Ideathons, and forty seminars and special lectures, all aimed at community contribution and industry-academia cooperation.
Through this agreement, the universities have pledged to actively cooperate on: ▲ mutual collaboration and joint operation of ESG-based community contribution and industry-academia cooperation programs ▲ collaborative activities and the creation of a shared collaboration ecosystem for sharing university infrastructure, ideas, and best practices ▲ nurturing talent tailored to future new industries and local settlement, and strengthening activities to attract residents ▲ jointly responding to changes resulting from the introduction of the RISE system.
The Regional Community Contribution University Alliance plans to hold a community problem-solving Ideathon in Daegu this August, and in October, to host a short-form competition using AI technology and an ESG Capstone Design Fair in collaboration with local media centers in each region.
Hwang Kihyun, head of the Dongseo University LINC 3.0 Project Group and Shared Collaboration Center, said, "We will make sincere efforts to further develop the Regional Community Contribution University Alliance, which has continued for eight years as a national university council, and jointly respond to changes brought by the introduction of Glocal University 30 and the Regional Innovation-led University Support System (RISE)."
Representatives from industry-academic cooperation project groups of 10 universities nationwide, including Dongseo University, are holding a regional community contribution university alliance agreement ceremony.
