Photographer Won Beom-sik's Exhibition 'Limitless Order' on Display at The Sharp Gallery Until September 25
POSCO E&C announced on the 24th that it will hold the exhibition "2024 ARCHISCULPTURE: Limitless Order" by photographer Won Beom-sik at The Sharp Gallery until September 25th in celebration of its 30th anniversary.
Photographer Won Beom-sik is a leading contemporary art photographer in Korea, having received the prestigious Ilwoo Photography Award and been a finalist for the British Photographer Association Award.
His major series, "ARCHISCULPTURE," is a compound word combining "Architecture" and "Sculpture." It refers to a collage work where the artist collects photographs of famous buildings worldwide and reassembles them with his unique sensibility.
In particular, this exhibition will unveil a special commissioned artwork, "ARCHISCULPTURE 077," created in collaboration with Won Beom-sik to commemorate POSCO E&C's 30th anniversary.
For this special commissioned artwork, the artist personally visited POSCO E&C's iconic landmarks located in Seoul, Incheon, Busan, Pohang, and Jeju, exploring the architectural aesthetics of both the interior and exterior to complete a new "ARCHISCULPTURE."
A representative from The Sharp Gallery stated, "Through this exhibition, which allows visitors to explore the illusion of a metropolis where real city fragments are reconnected through the artist's perspective, we hope you discover a new order that emerges beautifully as different architectural elements in the works cohesively unite."
The exhibition is free to attend through Naver reservations. At the Healing Forest Lounge in front of the planned exhibition hall on the 4th floor of The Sharp Gallery, signature tea and coffee are offered free of charge.
