Jindo Fire Station Works Hard on Flood Recovery Efforts Following Heavy Rainfall

About 40 Rescue Requests and Flood Damage Reports Received Due to Heavy Rainfall

Jindo Fire Station (Chief Park Cheon-jo) announced on the 24th that following the heavy rain that fell in Jindo-gun in the early morning of the 16th, causing house flooding and facility damage, they conducted rescue and safety measures, and actively supported residents in flood recovery efforts in the affected areas.


Due to the heavy rain, about 40 rescue requests and flood damage reports were received, and Jindo Fire Station mobilized all available resources for a swift response. Three rescue requests due to house flooding were received, and five residents were rescued. Additionally, 38 safety measures such as soil inflow were reported and dispatched accordingly.

Furthermore, from the 17th to the 22nd, about 300 firefighters and volunteer firefighters were mobilized for five days, conducting drainage work at flooded houses in Domok Village, Uisin-myeon on the 17th, Geumgap Village, Uisin-myeon on the 18th, and Beolpo Village, Gogeun-myeon on the 22nd. They also distributed emergency relief supplies, secured dangerous areas, and organized items damaged by flooding.


Chief Park Cheon-jo stated, “We are currently preparing plans to strengthen emergency contact networks, provide safety education to residents, and reinforce equipment and personnel in preparation for future heavy rains. We will continue to prioritize the safety of local residents and respond quickly and efficiently at all times.”
