Buyeo Watermelon and Other Chungnam Agricultural Products Launched in School and Group Cafeterias Nationwide

Chungnam Province and CJ Freshway to Launch 'Regional Coexistence Project'

CJ Freshway is showcasing agricultural products from Chungnam in cafeterias nationwide.

The Chungnam Provincial Government announced on the 24th that it will be promoting a regional coexistence project with CJ Freshway until November.

In accordance with the win-win cooperation agreement signed in April between the province and CJ Freshway to vitalize the distribution of Chungnam's agricultural specialties, dishes made with Chungnam agricultural products will be introduced at over 50 group cafeterias across the country starting this month.

This month, a watermelon makguksu made with watermelon, a specialty of Buyeo-gun, has been introduced. In August, potato pancakes and potato perilla seed kalguksu made with Seosan potatoes will be offered, and in September, onion bulgogi using Dangjin onions is planned to be served.

Lee Deokmin, Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Livestock, said, "Together with CJ Freshway, which operates more than 550 large-scale cafeterias nationwide, we will promote the excellence of our local agricultural products and expand sales of agricultural specialties," adding, "We will actively cooperate with the food service industry to increase the income of local farmers."
