Lotte Wellfood (formerly Lotte Confectionery), the first in the domestic ice cream industry to introduce a '0 kcal' ice cream, has launched the 'Seedless Watermelon Bar 0 kcal' ahead of the summer peak season. Following the two representative ice cream brands of Lotte Wellfood, 'Jaws Bar' and 'Screw Bar', the 'Watermelon Bar' has also been released as a 0 kcal ice cream bar, completing the Jaws Bar brand lineup.

Lotte Wellfood decided to commercialize the Seedless Watermelon Bar 0 kcal product due to continuous consumer requests through its website, SNS, and customer center. By removing the chocolate-coated peanuts and using natural sweeteners instead of sugar, they achieved a refreshing and sweet taste comparable to the original product at 0 kcal.

The two products, 'Jaws Bar 0 kcal' and 'Screw Bar 0 kcal', launched in April, gained industry attention by selling out their initial stock due to popularity. They exceeded their sales target by selling approximately 7.2 million units within one month of release, and currently, cumulative sales have surpassed 25 million units, showing continuous growth. Lotte Wellfood plans to maximize sales during the summer peak season with the launch of the Seedless Watermelon Bar 0 kcal.

In collaboration with Lotte Central Research Institute, they have also filed a patent related to the manufacturing method of ice bars using allulose. Since allulose is sensitive to heat and difficult to maintain its form when exposed to water, after considerable effort, they developed the optimal ratio to maintain the ice bar shape.

Meanwhile, Lotte Wellfood has strengthened its ice cream lineup to a total of seven products by newly launching four types of sugar-free desserts under the brand 'ZERO' (▲Zero Triple Chocolate Bar ▲Zero Cookies and Cream Bar ▲Zero Deep Chocolate Pint ▲Zero Cookies and Cream Pint).
