Ham Young-joo, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, visited the 'Korean Paralympic Committee Icheon Training Center' on the 23rd to encourage the national team athletes participating in the '2024 Paris Paralympics' and to deliver sponsorship funds.
Chairman Ham's visit was arranged to raise nationwide interest in the 2024 Paris Paralympics, which will be held on the 28th of next month, and to improve the training environment and boost the morale of the Korean national athletes who are sweating through their final training sessions. The event was attended by Chairman Ham, Chung Jin-wan, President of the Korean Paralympic Committee, and national team athletes with disabilities.
Chairman Ham said, "The passion and efforts of the national team athletes representing Korea on the Paralympic stage, where the world's best athletes gather, give deep inspiration and hope to everyone beyond the boundaries of sports," adding, "All members of Hana Financial will unite to cheer so that they can demonstrate their best performance at this competition."
Chung Jin-wan, President of the Korean Paralympic Committee, expressed gratitude, saying, "We appreciate Hana Financial's continuous interest and support since the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that this sponsorship boosts the athletes' morale and leads to good results."
Since the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Paralympics, Hana Financial has continuously supported the Paralympic national team. Through various sports sponsorships such as the integrated football league for disabled and non-disabled players, 'Everyone's Football Field, Everyone's K-League,' and sports like Nordic skiing and curling for the disabled, it contributes to revitalizing disabled sports and creating a social atmosphere where people with disabilities can dream of hope. Going forward, through strengthening ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management activities, it plans to create an environment where people with disabilities can successfully participate in society and continue efforts to grow together with the social community.
Meanwhile, at this Paris Paralympics, athletes representing Korea are expected to participate in various events including table tennis and boccia, which are strong sports for Korea, as well as taekwondo, which was officially adopted as a sport at the '2020 Tokyo Paralympics.' Athletes such as Joo Jung-hoon, gold medalist in taekwondo at the 2022 Hangzhou Asian Para Games, and Seo Soo-yeon, silver medalist in table tennis at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics, are expected to perform well.
