President Yoon Suk-yeol congratulated Han Dong-hoon, the newly appointed leader of the People Power Party, in a phone call.
On the 23rd, immediately after the party convention, Han revealed in a broadcast interview that he called President Yoon to express his aspirations for harmony between the party and the government.
Han said, "I conveyed my determination to do my best so that the party and government can work together harmoniously and pursue good politics." He also shared that President Yoon encouraged him by saying, "You have worked hard" and asked him to "do well."
