Team Reboot, a faculty startup company from Pukyong National University, and KLCSM, a ship management specialist under the SM Group's shipping division, signed a strategic partnership agreement on the 2nd, establishing an ongoing cooperative relationship between the two companies.
The purpose of this agreement is to maximize productivity in the shipping industry through the adoption of AI-based automation solutions and to create synergy by combining the technological capabilities and expertise of both companies.
As the first project of this strategic collaboration, the two companies have signed a contract for the adoption of Team Reboot's askyour.work solution to automate KLCSM's internal voucher processing, with the goal of commercializing the solution within the year.
askyour.work is an artificial intelligence system based on generative AI technology that converts various formats of invoices generated in shipping, trade, and logistics into standardized forms and automatically inputs them into the database required for voucher processing. Shipping companies like KLCSM face challenges in managing human resources and improving efficiency due to the vast amount of voucher work processed manually.
The askyour.work solution, developed to address these issues, is an improved outcome of the '2023 Busan Digital Innovation Hub Industry-Academia-Government R&BD Support Project.' It integrates generative AI, OCR (Optical Character Recognition), and Document AI technologies, and will be established through collaboration with KLCSM.
askyour.work can significantly reduce the time required for re-inspection and typing of attached documents, and can alleviate the burden of repetitive and labor-intensive tasks.
Kwon Ogil, CEO of KLCSM, stated, "We expect a significant improvement in productivity with the introduction of askyour.work," and added, "Through our collaboration with Team Reboot, we will accelerate the digital transformation of the shipping industry and solidify our position as a leading innovative company."
Choi Sungcheol, CEO of Team Reboot, said, "We plan to continuously introduce innovative solutions in various fields utilizing AI technology," and added, "The adoption of askyour.work will serve as the starting point for digital transformation in the shipping and trade sectors."
Through this agreement, KLCSM and Team Reboot are expected to establish themselves as leading companies in digital innovation in the trade and shipping sectors. Furthermore, various collaborations between the two companies are expected to generate synergy effects, which will greatly contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of Korea's shipping, trade, and logistics industries.
Additionally, Team Reboot plans to accelerate the digital transformation (DX) of shipping companies by applying its main products, askyour.trade and askyour.work, widely in the trade and shipping sectors, and by implementing these solutions for various shipping and trading companies.
