On the 22nd, JTBC's 'Case Manager' reported the story of Mr. A, a foreign student from Bangladesh two years ago. Mr. A attends a university in Busan and was working part-time at a restaurant to cover his tuition and living expenses. The restaurant where he worked was located right in front of a breakwater, offering a scenic view with outdoor tables. It was a lively place where they played popular songs that customers liked and even took song requests.

However, the incident occurred around 8 p.m. on the 5th. That day, a request came from a table where four customers were seated, asking to "turn up the music volume." When Mr. A increased the volume, another table complained that it was "too loud" and asked to lower the volume. After lowering the music, the first table that had requested the volume increase complained again. When Mr. A tried to explain the situation, some of the four customers suddenly pushed him and used abusive language. Upon calling the police, one of them even threw a punch and threatened, saying, "This is my territory. I am a gangster in this neighborhood." Mr. A claimed that along with the insults, he heard humiliating remarks such as "Why did you come to Korea? Go back to your country."
Due to the assault by the customers, Mr. A fell to the ground and was so shocked that he could not get up for a while. His lips were split, a tooth was broken, and he suffered bruises on his arms and legs. Mr. A expressed, "I came to study abroad thinking Korea was a safe country, but I am exhausted after experiencing this," and added, "I am afraid the offending customers might come looking to harm me at any time." Furthermore, he complained about difficulties in maintaining his livelihood as he could not earn living expenses due to his injuries.
According to the police investigation, two male offenders are ordinary university students and have been booked on charges of assault and injury. One who threw a punch has completed a summons investigation, and the other will be called in for questioning soon.
