President Yoon Suk-yeol will dispatch a special envoy team consisting of Sung Tae-yoon, Chief of Policy Office at the Presidential Office, and Ahn Deok-geun, Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy, to the Czech Republic for follow-up discussions on securing the contract for the construction of a new nuclear power plant in the Czech Republic.

Jung Hye-jeon, spokesperson for the Presidential Office, held a briefing at the Yongsan Presidential Office on the morning of the 23rd and said, "The special envoy team will visit the Czech Republic for a 3-day, 2-night schedule to meet with Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala and Minister of Industry and Trade Josef Sikela to deliver a letter of appreciation from the President regarding the selection of the preferred negotiation partner in the Czech Republic."

Spokesperson Jung explained, "They also plan to focus on discussing follow-up measures such as establishing a government-to-government hotline."

Earlier, the Presidential Office stated that President Yoon instructed related ministries to make every effort to strengthen the nuclear power ecosystem in relation to the Czech nuclear power plant contract during the senior secretaries meeting the previous day, and that the dispatch of a special envoy to the Czech Republic by the President was under consideration in this regard.
