On the 21st, a post titled "My sister's husband is so creepy" was uploaded to an online community. The author, A, a woman in her 20s, explained, "My sister is in her early 30s and got married two years ago, and I have only seen my brother-in-law during the formal meeting and holidays." She added, "On my sister's first wedding anniversary, my brother-in-law contacted me asking 'What does my sister like?' so I roughly suggested some gifts, and since then, he has contacted me occasionally." She continued, "He asked about how to make up after fights with my sister, what she likes, and where to travel." A said she initially responded well to her brother-in-law's messages but got annoyed by the continuous contact and sometimes replied after one or two days.

A said, "Recently, on their second anniversary, he contacted me again, and I replied, 'How about visiting her yourself? That would be more touching.'" According to A, her brother-in-law responded, "Are you uncomfortable with me sending these messages?" and sent 30 photos of A, saying, "Compared to this time, my sister-in-law has grown a lot." Among the photos he sent were pictures taken when A first met him and bikini photos that A had set as her profile picture. In other words, the brother-in-law had captured and kept photos that A had posted as her profile pictures.

When a shocked A asked, "Why on earth do you have these?" the brother-in-law retorted, "I keep every photo I take. Do I need your permission to capture (profile photos) between you and me?" Eventually, A confided this matter to her family. Her parents were also surprised and scolded her sister, but her sister reportedly got angry instead. A's sister said, "Frankly, what's the big deal about my husband having a few photos of his wife's younger sister?" and treated their parents and A as if they were strange.

A expressed, "It's so creepy," and vented, "We didn't even take selfies together; these are photos I put up as profile pictures or secretly taken of me. Isn't this weird?" Netizens who saw this reacted with comments such as, "Both the sister and brother-in-law are strange," "The brother-in-law is definitely weird, and you should be careful," "You should create a separate multi-profile for the brother-in-law so he can't see your profile pictures," "The sister knows it's strange but probably can't get a divorce, so she gets angry at the family instead," and "It would be best to keep distance from the sister and her husband."
