Director and Section Chief Instruct to Establish Heatwave Countermeasures at Policy Debate

Gurye-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will take thorough preventive measures against heat-related illnesses caused by the heatwave.
On the 22nd, County Governor Kim Soon-ho urged all efforts to establish an emergency plan against the heatwave at the policy discussion meeting with department heads, to protect the health and safety of residents during the summer.
At the meeting, Governor Kim instructed to conduct inspections and prior guidance on working environments in indoor and outdoor workplaces before the full onset of the heatwave, and to actively promote public action guidelines such as refraining from outdoor activities during summer to prevent heat-related illnesses among vulnerable groups.
In particular, Governor Kim repeatedly emphasized the need for thorough supervision and inspection to ensure that the health of elderly residents around the area is not affected by the heatwave.
Additionally, Governor Kim called for proactive management of current county affairs, including checking village-level quarantine status, identifying targets for improving vacant house living environments for rural students, inspecting defects in public facilities within the county, and maintaining the surrounding environment.
To prevent heatwave damage, the county plans to visit the homes of about 200 high-risk individuals, including elderly living alone, from July 22 to July 26 to provide education on preventing heat-related illnesses, and on the 23rd, will conduct a heatwave damage prevention campaign at the Gurye 5-Day Market.
