"Thinq App Product Integration Registration Rate Tripled After Appliance Launch"
LG Electronics announced on the 23rd that the number of 'UP Appliance Ideas' directly proposed by customers in Korea and the United States recently surpassed 16,000. UP Appliances are home appliances that continuously add functions through upgrades even after purchase, increasingly tailored to customers.

Since introducing UP Appliances in 2022, LG Electronics has launched 24 types of UP Appliances, including washing machines, dryers, refrigerators, dishwashers, and air conditioners. A total of 426 upgrade contents have been distributed. Customer-proposed ideas have been actively reflected in the development of upgrade content. LG Electronics established a 'UP Appliance Idea Proposal' section in its ThinQ app home appliance management platform. In the United States, LG launched the overseas brand 'ThinQ UP' last year and is receiving customer proposals through the 'Share Your Ideas' section in the ThinQ application.
The number of customer UP Appliance idea proposals received through communication channels in both countries exceeded 16,000 as of last month. The number of proposals received in the past year doubled compared to the previous year. New functions reflecting customer ideas were developed considering technical aspects and customer value.
Representative examples include 'Current Time Display' applied to air conditioners and air purifiers, 'Smart Care' which automatically adjusts the Styler's operation according to fine dust and humidity, and the dishwasher's 'Plastic Course.' Other popular features among customers include 'Post-Care for Laundry,' which periodically rotates the drum after washing and drying to reduce wrinkles in laundry, and the 'Pet Care Course,' which effectively removes stains caused by pet urine and other factors.
Since the launch of UP Appliances, the number of customers linking their home appliances to the LG ThinQ app has also increased. LG Electronics reported that the registration rate of customers linking products to the LG ThinQ app has nearly tripled compared to before the launch.
Park Tae-in, head of the Smart Control Research Lab at LG Electronics' H&A (Home Appliance & Air Solution) Business Division, said, "We will deliver the value of differentiated empathetic intelligence (AI) appliances that are upgraded centered on customer experience."
