Yeongyang County Multicultural Center - Yeongyang Library implementing the Youth Reading Recipe program.
This program encourages youth to read a variety of books and create creative food art inspired by what they have read. It aims to help participants develop reading habits, enhance creativity and expressive skills, and promote communication among youths from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Kim (Yeongyang Middle School, age 14), a student who participated in the program, said, "I didn't usually enjoy reading, but through this program I became more interested in books. Although it was difficult at first to express the content of the books through food art, it gradually became more fun and I enjoyed being able to fully use my imagination."
County Governor Oh Dochang stated, "I hope that through this program, children from multicultural families will have the opportunity to develop creative thinking and express themselves by representing the content of books through food."
