Gochang-gun to Conduct 'Resident Registration Fact-Finding Survey' Until November 18

Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk Province, will conduct the "2024 Resident Registration Fact-Finding Survey" until November 18.

According to the county on the 22nd, the survey targets all households, with a particular focus on centenarians, welfare-vulnerable groups, and long-term missing residents who have been unaccounted for over five years.

The resident registration fact-finding survey is conducted once a year to enhance the accuracy of resident registration by verifying whether the registered address matches the actual residence.

The process will proceed in the following order: non-face-to-face digital survey (October 26), joint investigation team’s visit survey (October 27 to October 15), notification and announcement for those whose resident registration and actual residence do not match (October 16 to November 5), and administrative action on the resident registration list (November 6 to November 12).

The non-face-to-face digital survey was introduced in 2022 due to the increasing number of dual-income and single-person households, which make visit surveys difficult. Survey subjects respond to the fact-finding questions by accessing the "Government24 app."

Following this, the visit survey will be conducted for households that did not participate in the non-face-to-face survey, with a joint investigation team composed of neighborhood leaders and public officials visiting each household individually.

Households including key survey targets such as centenarians, long-term missing residents over five years, and welfare-vulnerable groups will be surveyed once more through visits, even if they participated in the non-face-to-face survey.

Meanwhile, if residents voluntarily report and update their resident registration information during the survey period, they can receive a reduction of up to three-quarters of the fine amount.

A county official said, "Since the resident registration fact-finding survey forms the basis for national and local governments to establish policies, we ask for the active cooperation of all residents."
