The Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation announced on the 22nd that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to collaborate on nurturing classical music talents with the Zurich University of the Arts in Switzerland.
The signing ceremony held on the 19th at the Zurich University of the Arts was attended by Chung Moo-sung, Chairman of the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Foundation; Erich Zumstein, President of the Zurich University of the Arts; Heo Seung-yeon, Vice President of the Zurich University of the Arts; Kim Hyun-mi, professor at the Korea National University of Arts and a mentor for OnDream cultural and artistic talents; Sung Jae-chang, professor at Seoul National University; and 10 scholarship students.
Through this agreement, the foundation and the Zurich University of the Arts will promote mutual visits and educational and performance programs between members of the foundation’s OnDream Ensemble and the youth orchestra members of the Zurich University of the Arts.

The 10 scholarship students selected for the OnDream Ensemble, a classical talent program under the Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Scholarship, received special lectures and training from musicians such as pianist Heo Seung-yeon, who serves as Vice President of the Zurich University of the Arts; Klaidi Sahaci, concertmaster of the Tonhalle Orchestra; Nikolai Pepper, professor at the Cologne University of Music; Oliver Davelai, principal of the Bern Symphony Orchestra; and Misha Groil, professor at the Zurich University of the Arts.
On the 20th, the OnDream Ensemble held a concert at the Zurich University of the Arts hall, offering a stage for communication with local Korean residents, local audiences, and students and artists of the Zurich University of the Arts.
Since 2023, the foundation has been a partner of the Verbier Festival, one of Europe’s top music festivals, supporting scholarship students’ participation in the festival as well as providing scholarships to those selected for the soloist program. This year, the foundation plans to take a step further by showcasing the talents of Korean music talents on the OnDream Ensemble stage at the Verbier Festival venue.
The Hyundai Motor Chung Mong-Koo Scholarship’s cultural and artistic talent development program is among the best in Korea. It selects talented and skilled cultural and artistic talents from middle and high school students to university students, providing full tuition support, overseas advancement scholarships, international competition scholarships, and global excellence scholarships without hesitation. The goal is to offer various growth opportunities through continuous and systematic development programs to strengthen capabilities. As of the first half of this year, the foundation has supported a cumulative total of about 2,700 cultural and artistic scholarship students since 2011, with total funding amounting to 11.3 billion KRW.
