Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced on the 22nd that the Eunpyeong Senior Club and the Eunpyeong Branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association were selected as outstanding institutions in the "2024 National Senior Job Project Implementing Agency Evaluation," jointly organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Senior Citizens Development Institute.


According to the district, the Eunpyeong Senior Club was the only autonomous district in Seoul to be selected for the multiple-type Group 1 category, receiving a prize of 15 million KRW, while the Eunpyeong Branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association was selected as an outstanding institution in Group 2, securing a prize of 10 million KRW.


The Eunpyeong Senior Club contributes to revitalizing the local economy by expanding market-type projects. It is a representative senior job institution leading efforts to solve environmental issues through resource circulation, such as the "Coffee Grounds Upcycling Project" and the "Detergent Station Earth." It has also achieved the remarkable feat of winning awards for 11 consecutive years, including 2 grand prizes, 4 excellence awards, and 6 outstanding awards.


The Eunpyeong Branch of the Korea Senior Citizens Association operates 16 projects involving approximately 1,300 participants, providing public services needed by the local community, such as "Post Office Helpers" and "Silver Clean Bell," a school environment maintenance project.


Eunpyeong-gu stated that this year, in cooperation with 11 senior job implementing agencies, it has provided jobs to a total of 5,467 seniors, contributing to the provision of income bases for seniors and the activation of social participation activities.


District Mayor Kim Mi-kyung said, "We will develop senior jobs that can contribute to the development of the local community and further enhance senior welfare."
