Candidate Lee received 90.02% of the votes from party members in the Gangwon regional primary held at the Hongcheon Sports Complex in Hongcheon County, Gangwon.
Candidate Kim Doo-kwan followed with 8.90%, and candidate Kim Ji-soo with 1.08%.

Having recorded a cumulative vote share of 90.75% in the Jeju and Incheon primaries the previous day, candidate Lee continued his dominant trend with a landslide victory in Gangwon as well.
The results of the Supreme Council member primary were tallied as follows: Jeong Bong-ju (20.33%), Kim Byung-joo (18.14%), Jeon Hyun-hee (14.88%), Kim Min-seok (12.48%), Lee Eon-ju (12.14%), Han Jun-ho (10.30%), Kang Seon-woo (6.40%), and Min Hyung-bae (5.34%).
