The Presidential Office announced on the 20th that it has placed the senior administrative officer, who was involved in a drunk driving controversy, on standby leave, effectively suspending him from duty.

Through a notice to the press corps on the same day, the Presidential Office stated that the senior administrative officer accused of drunk driving was placed on standby leave as of the 19th, excluding him from his duties.

The senior administrative officer was caught by police while driving under the influence at a level warranting license cancellation on the 7th of last month. Although he was referred to the prosecution on the 17th, he continued to report to work at the Presidential Office as usual.

He expressed his intention to resign to the Presidential Office immediately after the incident, but instead of accepting it, the office decided to proceed with disciplinary measures. Further actions will be taken according to legal procedures soon.
