Baekho, President of Seoul Metro, visited the newly constructed stations on the Byeollae Line extension of Line 8 on the 19th to inspect the safety management status before the opening.

The Byeollae Line is an extension of Line 8 connecting Amsa-dong in Gangdong-gu, Seoul to the 12.8 km section between Guri City and Namyangju City. Having entered operational testing on May 25, the Byeollae Line is fully prepared for its opening scheduled for the 10th of next month.

President Baekho first arrived at Amsa Station Park Station, received reports on the opening preparations and congestion mitigation measures for the Byeollae Line, and inspected the site. He then boarded a train to Guri Station, where he checked the maintenance status of facilities such as platforms, concourses, and transfer corridors. Finally, he returned to Amsa Station Park Station to re-inspect the safety management of the facilities.

President Baekho stated, “I urge everyone to thoroughly inspect from the passengers’ perspective and immediately improve any shortcomings to ensure the Byeollae Line opens without any issues. We will continue to make efforts to minimize passenger congestion and transfer inconveniences even after the opening.”
