Infrastructure Improvement Considering Charging Characteristics by Vehicle Type
Electric vehicle charger manufacturer SK Signet recently announced on the 19th that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at its headquarters in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul, to expand the electric vehicle rapid charging network WATER and ultra-rapid charging business. Through this agreement, both companies will cooperate to install ultra-rapid chargers to promote the distribution of electric trucks and high-floor electric buses.
WATER is a CPO (Charge Point Operator) brand operated by Bright Energy Partners (BEP), currently expanding its rapid charging infrastructure with the goal of entering the top three operators within three years.
As the number of registered electric vehicles in Korea has exceeded 500,000, the demand for expanding rapid charging facilities is growing. SK Signet and WATER plan to collaborate on charging station operation management systems, charger installation and management, and user experience (UX) improvements.
