Star "Yeongcheon Peach" Pioneers New Market
Yeongcheon City, Gyeongbuk, shipped peaches for export to Indonesia at the Imgong Nonghyup Agricultural Products Distribution Center (APC) on the 17th.
The peaches exported for the first time this year are of the Gyeongbong variety, with an initial shipment of 300kg (84 boxes) sent this week and an additional 900kg scheduled for next week.
The shipped peaches will be distributed to Lotte Mart, HERO Market, and RANCH Market in Jakarta, Indonesia, allowing local consumers to enjoy the sweet and crunchy Gyeongbong peaches from Yeongcheon City.
Since being newly designated as a government export complex in March this year, Imgong Nonghyup visited Jakarta, Indonesia in April to explore overseas markets, survey the local distribution market, and hold meetings with buyers to expand exports.
Yeongcheon City plans to actively expand exports of various agricultural specialty products, such as fresh grapes and processed foods, using this first peach export as an opportunity to pioneer the promising new Indonesian market.
